The 1-month USD LIBOR interest rate is the average interest rate at which a selection of banks in London are prepared / considered to be prepared to lend to one another in American dollar with a maturity of 1 month. Alongside the 1-month USD LIBOR interest rate we also have a number of other LIBOR interest rates with other maturities and/or in other currencies.
The LIBOR interest rates are used by many banks as the base rate in setting the level of their savings interest, mortgage interest and loan interest rates.
