Current and historical Norwegian inflation rates
When reference is made to the Norwegian interest rate this often refers to the Key Policy Rate, or sight deposit rate. The Key Policy Rate is a base rate, an interest rate which is being calculated on bank deposits of the Norges Bank. By changing the interest rate the central bank of Norway can influence the market interest rate and the interest rate on savings accounts, mortgages and loans. Changing the base rate, will often also lead to fluctuations in the Norwegian Krone exchange rate.
